Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF TRYOUTS

Gaston United Soccer Club has many competitive teams and will select the players they best believe are ready and able to compete at those levels. Within certain age and gender divisions, GUSC will form multiple teams and must determine the needs for each team and select players accordingly.

WHAT DO I DO ON THE FIRST DAY OF TRYOUTS?

There will be a check-in area to confirm paperwork and payment was received. This is also where players will receive their tryout shirt, to be worn at both days of tryouts, as well as their tryout number that is used to identify the player by the coaches. `

WHAT IF MY SON OR DAUGHTER IS UNABLE TO ATTEND TRYOUTS?

You must contact the appropriate Director to discuss alternatives. If you are unsure of which Director to contact, email Jason Bailey and he will connect you.

WHEN WILL WE HEAR ABOUT TEAM PLACEMENT?

Gaston United will make every effort to contact every player within 48 hours of the end of the 2nd tryout date. Please ensure the phone number and email you provide is correct.

HOW LONG WILL WE HAVE TO MAKE A DECISION?

To fill rosters, especially those with multiple teams in the age group, we need commitments within 24 hours. This will ensure we are able to contact every player that has attended tryouts within 48 hours.

WHAT IS A COMMITMENT FEE AND WHEN DOES THIS HAVE TO BE PAID?

The commitment fee in non-refundable and secures the players spot on the team. This must be paid within 24 hours of the roster spot being offered.
