Boys Selected to Olympic Development Regional Camp
Date Posted: 5/26/2017
Congratultions to 2 of our 2003 Boys for being selected to the Olympic Development Program Regional Camp this summer!
In Nicholas' first year participating in the ODP program, he caught the eye of the coaches and evaluators to be selected as one of the best players in his age and represent North Carolina against the regional opponents this summer. Nicholas is a prime example of the player pathway Gaston United has in place. He joined Recreation at 6 years old, then moved on to the Youth Academy program and now is a leading player in the Classic program at U15. In addition to GUSC, Nicholas also proudly represented his team at Cramerton Middle School and hopes to wear the Forestview High School colors this fall. Having played multiple positions throughout his younger days, Nicholas was most recently seen leading the attack for Vincent Bofah's 03 Blue boys team. His loyalty and dedication to GUSC means he rarely misses a practice or game and hopes to play in college one day.
Well done, Nicholas!
Daniel just finished his 3rd season with Gaston United, having started his playing career in 2011 with the YMCA and he has not stopped, on the field, in the back yard, in the living room, where ever he has room to have a ball at his feet. If he does not have a ball at his feet, it is probably because he is taking a break and playing FIFA. Daniel also plays for Coach Bofah and the 03 Blue Boys, as well as his first year trying out for ODP. The Olympic Development Program brings together players from all across the state, providing an invaluable experience of different coaching styles and the level of player at the next level. Daniel has represented Gerier Middle School the last 2 years and was awarded team MVP in the 7th grade. He hopes to suit up for Ashebrook High School this fall.
Congratulations Daniel, enjoy the experience!
